The Lifeaid Team
An HSE/Ofqual and FAIB recognised First Aid trainer and assessor for 5 years, Al started his active career at The Outward Bound Trust, initially based in North Wales, and with his love of the outdoors and teaching secured positions in North America, Bermuda and Germany. He served in the Mountain Rescue service for 6 years and also had a 2 year period with the R.N.L.I. A good 8 years as Head of Physical Education at a Staffordshire school followed. Now settled in Yorkshire with his wife Lynn, Al is an appointed training supervisor for the British Heart Foundation and spends much of his spare time visiting schools promoting the BHF Heart Start initiative.
Lynn has worked in the teaching profession for more that 35 years and has been actively involved with First Aid training and assessing, as a recognised HSE/Ofqual and FAIB trainer/assessor, for 6 years. Lynn’s specialism as a swimming instructor gave perfect grounding for becoming a Royal Life Saving Society trainer and assessor. She continues to teach Physical Education in a large secondary school in West Yorkshire, where she has worked for the last 24 years, being instrumental in the inclusion of First Aid in the curriculum for post 16 pupils. She also delivers the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Start programme to primary school pupils in the county.
